Founder, Executive Director

Gina Frey is a board-certified emergency physician, visual artist, and first-generation college graduate. Her multidisciplinary creative practice spans photography, screenwriting, professional makeup artistry, and creative direction. She began her education at Pratt Institute, where she studied photography before leaving art school early to pursue medicine.

That decision changed the direction of her life, but it never ended her relationship with art. Over the following decade, medicine and visual art became two ways of examining the same subjects: humanity, identity, mortality, memory, and the stories we leave behind. Art and medicine, seemingly worlds apart, are rooted in the same ethos: a love of people and their stories.

The Artidex was born where those paths converged. What began as a return to photography evolved into a physical archive preserving contemporary artists through signed Polaroid portraiture, documentary film, and conversation.

Having become a healer in the most literal sense, Gina felt called to return to her creative roots and pour her time and energy back into the abstract healers of the world: artists. Artists undoubtedly heal a broad reach of people, fostering connections both near and far, and their work makes life more bearable, and beautiful. Through The Artidex, she seeks not only to nurture their creative visions, but to challenge the inequities of industries that too often profit from artists without adequately protecting, crediting, or sustaining them.

Today, as Founder and Executive Director, Gina leads both the archive and The Artidex Foundation, an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization extending preservation into direct artist support through grants, creative opportunities, wellness resources, and community investment.

Noah Boujikian is a producer, rapper, curator, and multidisciplinary world builder whose work moves fluidly across sound, design, fashion, and storytelling. Performing under the artist name Noah B, he is recognized as a foundational artist in the development of wave music, having begun creating the sound in the early 2010s, before wave had emerged as a formally recognized genre or international community.

His landmark 2018 album, South Hills, introduced a wider audience to the euphoric, emotionally driven sound that has become his signature and established him as an influential voice within the genre. Over a career spanning more than a decade, Noah has grown from a pillar of niche online communities into a prominent artist within the U.S. club circuit, bringing his distinct energy and vision to audiences through recordings and live performance. His expanding influence attracted the attention of UKF, leading him to curate a two track EP for its experimental Pilot imprint and perform a special DJ set for UKF’s Future Vision series. An earlier chapter of his career also saw him performing as a rapper, including opening for the legendary Wu Tang Clan.

Noah’s creative practice extends beyond music into graphic design and clothing through Ark Hive, his vintage resale project. Across each medium, he brings the same curatorial instinct and meticulous attention to detail, creating visual, tactile, and auditory experiences that feel individual yet cohesive.

Documented as Entry #004 in The Artidex archive, Noah serves on the Board of Directors of The Artidex Foundationand as producer and cohost of The Artidex Podcast. His experience building community through independent music, and his firsthand understanding of the realities artists face, helps guide the Foundation’s work to preserve the stories, processes, and inner worlds behind today’s artists.

Will Crooks is an award-winning editorial and commercial photographer whose work combines the spontaneity of photojournalism with a deeply human approach to portraiture. His photographs have appeared in The New York Times, and his work has been featured on the covers of Billboard, Road & Track, and Garden & Gun. A two-time South Carolina Photojournalist of the Year, he has photographed subjects ranging from Governor Gavin Newsom and various Grammy Award–winning musicians to craftspeople, families, and communities throughout the South.

Despite the reach of his work, Will is driven less by recognition than by curiosity. For him, the camera is a means of entering another person’s world: learning how they live, understanding what matters to them, and preserving something honest about their experience. Whether photographing a public figure or someone rarely given the opportunity to be seen, he approaches every subject with the same care, dignity, and attention.

Documented as Entry #005 in The Artidex archive, Will now serves as a Director on the board for The Artidex Foundation. His experience in visual storytelling and his commitment to representing people with honesty and humanity directly reflect the Foundation’s mission to preserve artists’ stories while advocating for their value.

Daniel Crawford is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice spans carpentry, framing, sculpture, casting, illustration, and graphic design. Working across both physical and digital mediums, he applies a strong understanding of material, composition, and visual storytelling to everything from handcrafted objects to graphic systems.

His work in retail and brand development includes creating graphics, shaping visual identity, and translating a brand’s point of view across both physical spaces and printed and digital materials. This combination of hands on craftsmanship and design experience allows him to consider not only how something looks, but how it is made, experienced, and understood.

Daniel serves as Secretary of The Artidex Foundation, contributing to its governance while also helping shape the Foundation’s visual language and creative direction.
